Our History
Family owned for more than two centuries, the vineyard located in the Sklavogianni region of Serifos, was producing wine when German explorer Ludwig Ross visited the island in 1837.
Originally set up as a mixed use farm, the estate was producing wine, figs, wheat and would also accommodate cattle.
The wine was being sold to neighboring island Syros and more distant Hydra, being further sold to international markets of the time from the merchants of these islands
Deserted after the second World War, following the fate of the rest of the island, the estate was resurrected in 2016.
The ‘Ark’ of rare vines
The vineyard is blessed with more than 8 rare local own rooted grape varieties, whose age is lost in time, but according to local witnesses, exceeds 110 years.
Serifos used to boast a very large vineyard, producing more than 4.000 tons of wine back in 1837 according to German explorer Ludwig Ross.
Our research on the island of Serifos has led us to record more than 20 local or Cycladic indigenous varieties, and the list is still being enriched.

Sustainability
The steep sloped terraces of our vineyards have been cultivated by traditional methods using horses and donkeys for ploughing, and all the rest of the necessary works being done by hand. No tractor has ever entered the vineyard.
Due to the very dry and windy enviroment, disease pressure is very low, thus helping us avoid chemicals for spraying. Only sulpur and tiny amounts of copper have been used preemptively.
Harvest is strictly done by hand and grapes are transported by donkeys.
